Embracing the Imperfect: A Memorable Encounter with a Kalahari Leopard

Leopard | Tau Pan | Central Kalahari Game Reserve | Botswana

In wildlife photography, you often snap thousands of photos but only end up loving a handful. Usually, the keepers are the ones that nail all the technical stuff. But every now and then, you find yourself drawn to a shot that’s not quite perfect.

That’s the case with this photo I took of a leopard in the Kalahari Desert. It’s a bit blurry because I missed the focus. Moments after I took it, the leopard looked away, and the perfect shot was gone. But this photo? I absolutely love it.

Why? It's all about the moment. For a brief second, I locked eyes with this incredible wild leopard. That experience, that connection, is burned into my memory forever. And that’s really what it’s all about for me. It's about those raw, real moments in nature, sharing a brief part of life with these amazing animals.
