Capturing the Elusive: My Unforgettable Encounter with a Leopard Cub in Botswana

Just hours after landing in Botswana, I experienced something I'd been told was quite rare: a close encounter with a leopard cub. Despite warnings that spotting these elusive creatures could be a stroke of luck, our adventure quickly proved otherwise.

Our initial drive through the bush seemed uneventful until we circled to the far side of some dense bushes, following whispers of a leopard sighting. That's when the magic happened. A curious leopard cub, no more than a few months old, cautiously emerged from the underbrush. Its curiosity got the best of it, and to our astonishment, it jumped onto the hood of our vehicle to take a closer look at us.

This early encounter, still fresh from our flight and battling jet lag, was a fantastic start to our trip. It was an unexpected and unforgettable moment, providing a perfect introduction to the wild beauty of Botswana.
